GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING
Inspired by the Consolata mission of providing consolation to the vulnerable in all aspects, Consolata School offers Guidance and Counselling Services to both students and staff with the aim of providing them with academic, social and psychological support in order to realize full-functioning individuals. Specifically, the guidance and counselling services are meant to promote the holistic development of pupils and students by helping them get to understand themselves and their needs better, to find effective solutions to their daily problems, to make realistic decisions, to improve their abilities and skills, and to adjust themselves and their environment in a healthy way.
Generally, counselling offers a safe and confidential place for individuals to talk about experiences that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. These experiences may exist within their own home, community or at school. Among the common issues addressed through guidance and counselling services include; self -esteem, identity crisis, academic challenges, family conflicts, behavioural challenges, mental health and other illness.
Consolata School has engaged a clinical psychologist who not only offers individualized counseling but also offers group counselling through seminars and workshops. She also administers psychological assessments tests to facilitate treatment plan and making referrals for specialized treatment. Parents, students and staff of Consolata School are therefore encouraged to make use of the available services by consulting the school counselor through the school administration.
